Update for September 142020

VonBIOS Birget ("Eva" - Sable)

Puppies due October 22, 2020

"Eva" had a Transcervical Insemination ("TCI") this morning, August 23, 2020.

The Stud Dog utilised was Dasty vom Ludwigseck BH AD, an "All Black" imported from Germany, October, 2019. Dasty and Eva's father, the imported, Red Sable, Bruno vom Wallensener Hof IPO2. Apart from the drive attributes, Dasty's all black coat probably will darken Eva's litter, produce "All Black" puppies, but that no doubt will be up to mother nature (and "Eva").

X-Ray scheduled for mid-October, 2020, to determine pregnancy and estimate of litter size.

This would mean "Eva" would have her litter (whelping) on or around October 22-25, 2020. On this basis, Eva's puppies would become available to pre-allocated and suitable homes, after their 60 days of "Critical Period Development", around December 22-24, 2020

Whelping Outcome

December 24, 2019

VonBIOS Litter "F" (Kovacs Vikus mated with VonBIOS Carolin) and x-rayed with 8 puppies did not result as expected and indeed was quite sad.  The result was only 7 puppies (1 x male and 6 x females), though in itself, not the sad part.  The whelping started 2 days early on Christmas Eve (December 24, 2019), instead of Boxing Day (December 26, 2019). So I was caught off-guard for this early birth, but should not have been.

All Puppies Adopted from Litter "F"

VonBIOS is constantly researching Stud Dogs for our female working line German Shepherd Dogs. With this in mind and with the intention of puppies from Litter "A" (1) Dark Sable, Litter "B" (1) Dark Sable, and Litter "C" (2) All Black females as planned for late 2019 through to early 2020. We are looking forward to doing what breeders of purebred German Shepherd Dogs should always do, and that is, achieve what was supposedly started by the founder of the breed, Captain Max von Stephanitz. Here are a couple of quotes, which say a lot -

The breeder can indeed lay the foundations of a good and serviceable dog but the trainer must see to it that he brings to their highest possible development, the physical and mental foundations already laid and thus his is the more grateful task.

"The most striking features of the correctly bred German Shepherds are firmness of nerves, attentiveness, unshockability, tractability, watchfulness, reliability and incorruptibility together with courage, fighting tenacity and hardness."
